‘Just magnificent’ Warnock is extremely positive over one particular Tottenham target

Former Premier League defender Stephen Warnock has showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer target Eberechi Eze.

During an appearance on The Football Show on Sky Sports, Warnock commended Eze’s on-ball confidence, which he described as an “arrogance in the right way.”

He emphasised Eze’s assertive approach to receiving the ball, showcasing a strong belief and understanding of his growth as a player.

The former Liverpool man acknowledged Eze’s journey, including recovering from a significant Achilles injury a few years ago.

He noted that Eze’s explosiveness and physical development have been evident, making him a challenging opponent for defenders.

Warnock also expressed the hope that Crystal Palace can retain Eze despite potential interest from other clubs.

He said: “Eze was just magnificent. What a talent. What a player. You watch him on the ball and that confidence, I say it’s arrogance, but arrogance in the right way.

“An arrogance where it’s ‘give me the ball’. A real belief and understanding that he has grown as a player.

“The injury that he picked up a few years ago, which was the Achilles injury, it took him a while to get over.

“But now when you look at him, he looks explosive again. He has bulked up as a player. Players are bouncing off him. I think it’s one of those seasons if they can keep hold of Eze, because there are people sniffing around, then it will be rightly a good season for Palace.”

He has been terrific for Crystal Palace recently. He scored 10 goals and 4 assists in 40 appearances for Palace last season and in total has 15 goals and 11 assists in 94 appearances across all competitions.

It is not surprising to see top clubs eyeing a move for him, but Palace might feel confident of keeping him, at least for now.
