Journalist warns Tottenham of ‘tricky’ transfer after Fabio Paratici gives the ‘green light’

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Argentina’s Alexis Mac Allister after being impressed by his World Cup performances.

Mac Allister has built on his excellent Premier League form this season with a string of impressive World Cup performances, becoming one of the finalists’ key midfield players.

According to the report, Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici was impressed with what he saw from the midfielder in Qatar and has ‘given the green light’ after Antonio Conte ‘registered interest’ in him.

The report adds that signing him will be difficult since he is under contract with Brighton until 2025, and Brighton will be under no pressure to sell him.

And journalist Dean Jones also believes that pursuing the Brighton midfielder will be ‘tricky’ for Spurs.

Jones claims that Seagulls are growing frustrated by teams coming and cherry picking the best players from their squad.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“I think it’s going to be tricky because Brighton are getting a bit fed up of this.

“People are thinking that they can just come and pick their squad apart at a time when they actually have big ambitions of their own under De Zerbi.”

Brighton’s new manager De Zerbi will want to keep hold of his best players, and it remains to be seen if Tottenham can lure them with a lucrative offer, keeping in mind that if Mac Allister does win the World Cup, his value will almost certainly increase.

Meanwhile,  Spurs will be facing stiff competition from the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan who are all reportedly interested in signing him.
