Journalist tips £90k-a-week Tottenham star to leave the club

Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

According to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge (h/t HITC), the 30-year-old Brazilian winger could leave the club at the end of the season.

He said; “Tottenham would love a right wing-back this window and ideally a forward. It looks like Lucas Moura is going to head back to Brazil at the end of the season.”

Moura has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Tottenham this season and he is yet to start a single league game for Spurs this season.

The Brazilian has started twice in the Champions League and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career.

Moura has been linked with a move back to his boyhood club Sao Paulo and it will be interesting to see if the player decides to leave Tottenham at the end of the season. He is out of contract in the summer and Tottenham have not managed to agree on a new deal with him.

The £90,000 a week attacker was a key player for Tottenham under former manager Mauricio Pochettino and he played a crucial role in their run to the 2019 Champions League final.

The Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham since the arrivals of Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.

It remains to be seen whether he is prepared to take on a new challenge at the end of the season.

Moura is certainly good enough to play regularly at a high-level and he cannot afford to waste his peak years sitting on the bench. A transfer away from Tottenham would be ideal for all parties in the summer.
