Journalist thinks £35m ace would join Spurs if they make an offer

According to Ben Jacobs, Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie may push for a move if Tottenham Hotspur can match his valuation with the club.

Hincapie has been linked with a move to Tottenham since last summer. And despite signing a new contract in February that extends his contract until 2027, ESPN had reported that Hincapie still has aspirations of playing for a top Premier League club.

Ben Jacobs delivered an update on Hincapie claiming that the player ‘would love a move’ to the Premier League and would push for a move. He adds that the player could be available for just £35m however, he has no offers yet, although he been discussed with ‘atleast two Premier League clubs’.

Tottenham have so far signed Micky van de Ven and Blackburn youngster Ashley Phillips. However, it is no secret that Spurs need to add at least one more centre-back to their squad before the transfer window ends.

It was reported yesterday that Barcelona could reopen talks with Spurs to try and agree a loan move for Clement Lenglet. The Frenchman spent last season on loan with the North London club and is keen on joining them. He previously had personal terms agreed and even rejected a move to Saudi side Al Nassr.

Tottenham have also been linked with the likes of Perr Schuurs from Torino and Edmond Tapsoba from Leverkusen.

Nonetheless, Tottenham are seemingly prioritising player outgoings before making further signings.

The club has already loaned Joe Rodon to Leeds United, and Djed Spence’s potential loan move to a Championship side is under discussion.

Players like Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, and Japhet Tanganga have also been linked with moves away from Tottenham.

The last week of the transfer window is expected to be a busy one for Spurs.
