Tottenham captain, Heung-min Son, has entered the final year of his contract, which is set to expire next June.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported on X that Spurs are ready to ensure the star forward’s future by triggering a one-year extension, which will keep him at the club until 2026.
Spurs will trigger a one-year contract extension for Son this summer keeping him at the club until 2026. Current deal expires in 2025, but the Spurs captain will be extended by a further 12 months.🇰🇷 pic.twitter.com/Hz81BjZeYN

Son has been an important figure at Spurs since joining the club.
And under manager Ange Postecoglou last season, he stepped up his game as captain, filling in the void left by Kane and finishing as Spurs’ top scorer with 17 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League appearances
Since joining the Lilywhites in 2015 for £22 million from Bayer Leverkusen, Son has made a staggering 408 appearances, scoring an impressive 162 goals and providing 84 assists. (Transfermarkt)
His long-standing relationship with the club is further strengthened by the trust shown in him, evidenced by his appointment as club captain last season, succeeding Hugo Lloris.
There has been interest in the player from Saudi Arabia recently and although the player is not looking for a move, the club appears to be taking precautionary steps to protect their asset.
By activating the extension clause, Tottenham would secure an additional 12 months, giving the club leverage in potential transfer negotiations.
