Journalist says Tottenham already have a ‘natural clinical finisher’ who is not getting opportunities

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a move for a striker at the end of the season.

There have been claims that the North London club need to bring in a reliable finisher in the summer and journalist Charlie Eccleshare has now revealed that they already have a clinical finisher in their ranks.

Eccleshare has now said on The View from The Lane podcast: “Scarlett is probably one of those who has been affected more than guys like Donley because they didn’t have a cup run. He didn’t get those opportunities.

“He turns 20 next month. He’s someone who you just thought was so natural and that’s what everyone says about him, he’s such a natural clinical finisher.”

19-year-old striker Dean Scarlett has barely had any opportunities this season because of Tottenham’s elimination from the cup competitions early on. A cup run would have allowed the North London club to give their youngsters more first-team opportunities and Scarlett could have shown his abilities with the first team.

The talented young striker is highly rated within the club and he has a bright future ahead of him. He will be hoping to prove his quality at the highest level and establish himself as a first-team player for Tottenham.

It remains to be seen whether the North London outfit are prepared to provide him with more opportunities next season. They have been overly dependent on Son Heung-min for goals this season and they need more support in the attack.

Promoting Scarlett to the first-team could give the youngster the necessary exposure and it would also save millions for Tottenham in the transfer market.

Tottenham have an outstanding pool of young talent at the club and they must do everything in their power to nurture these players into established stars for them in the coming seasons.
