Journalist says Conte ‘is not renewing’ with Spurs, ‘can’t wait to return’ to former club

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte’s long-term future at the London club has been a constant topic of speculation.

The Italian has done well to galvanise Tottenham since his arrival and they have shown massive improvement in recent months.

However, there have been rumours that he might not be at the club for the long run and that could be a worry for the Premier League club.

There is no doubt that Conte is a world-class manager who has won trophies across multiple leagues. Spurs need to hold on to him if they want to establish themselves as an elite European team in the near future.

However, Conte has a tendency to move around frequently and journalist Paolo Bargiggia from Calciomercato and Sport Mediaset claims that the Italian is keen on a return to his former club Juventus and therefore, he will not renew his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian’s contract with the Premier League club ends next summer and it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy can convince him to commit his long-term future to the club before his deal expires.

Conte is still very much at the beginning of his project at Spurs and abandoning it midway would be quite surprising. An ambitious manager like him will want to win trophies with Tottenham before leaving the club.

Furthermore, Tottenham have backed him heavily during the summer transfer window and they clearly believe that he is the right man to lead them to the top. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
