Journalist says 27-year-old is trying to understand if Tottenham transfer is possible

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in recent months.

The 27-year-old Inter Milan defender will be a free agent at the end of the season and he has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti has now revealed to Tutto Juve that the player is trying to understand whether a move to Tottenham would be possible in the coming months.

Apparently, he is keen to reunite with his former manager Antonio Conte at the London club.

Galetti said: “It will take a few days to decide his future. He’s wasting time to understand how possible a transfer to Tottenham is, a club looking for a central defender.

“The English also like Kim and Bastoni. The Slovak is more attractive because of his expiring contract. It will take a few more days to know the future at Milan.”

The 27-year-old defender has worked with Antonio Conte during their time together at Inter Milan and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can secure his services in the coming months.

Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer would be a masterstroke from the Premier League side.

Tottenham need to add more quality at the back and Skriniar is certainly one of the best defenders in Europe right now.

He could form a quality partnership alongside the Argentine international Cristian Romero. The likes of Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have been inconsistent this season and Conte will need to bring in a reliable centre-back so that Spurs can challenge for the major trophies in the coming seasons.

Skriniar is at the peak of his powers and he could make an immediate impact in the Premier League next season.
