Journalist claims Tottenham are set to make former Leicester man their first signing under Ange Postecoglou

Former Leicester City assistant manager Chris Davies is reportedly set to join Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff at Tottenham Hotspur, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.

Davies has previously worked as Brendan Rodgers’ assistant at various clubs, including Swansea City, Liverpool, and Celtic.

But the pair have seemed to gone their seperate ways after the recent sacking.

The news comes after it was confirmed that Ryan Mason has agreed to become Postecoglou’s assistant coach at Spurs.

Postecoglou had initially expressed interest in bringing Celtic coaches John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan to Spurs..

However, Daily Mail reports that Brendan Rodgers, who is the favorite to become the new Celtic manager, has spoken to Kennedy to express his desire for him to remain at the club.

As a result, it appears that Davies may be the first addition to Spurs’ coaching staff under Postecoglou.

This potential recruitment coincides with Tottenham’s plans for a summer rebuild, with Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison strongly linked to the club.

However, strong competition from Newcastle United is expected in the pursuit of Maddison’s signature.

They are also interested in Harvey Barnes and according to the latest report, Spurs have already made a joint £50m bid for the pair.

The addition of Davies to the coaching staff could potentially improve Spurs’ chances of securing their services.

Tottenham supporters will hope that the combination of Postecoglou’s managerial style and the expertise brought in by assistants like Davies and Mason will lead them to success in the upcoming season.
