Journalist analyses the chances of Gareth Bale returning to Tottenham this summer

By Bruce Grove -

Another transfer window and another dose of Gareth Bale returning to Tottenham rumours are doing the rounds in the media.

There is a way that Bale could end up at the Tottenham Stadium and that is if he is prepared to take the mother of all pay cuts or Real Madrid subsidises his astronomical salary.

Well, according to Football London’s Alasdair Gold, the idea of Bale somehow ending up as a loan player with Spurs is unrealistic and he has given his opinion on his latest Youtube video.

Gold said: “In a world where Spurs could get Gareth Bale for an incredible reduction on his wages on loan perhaps, maybe somewhere in that hemisphere of thinking about doing [that], that might happen. In the real world, the guy is on £650k a week at Real Madrid. That’s three times as much as Harry Kane earns and more. And his agent even said only a couple of months ago – he laughed when Spurs were suggested as a loan club. He was like – he just wouldn’t go there. That’s not what is going to happen.

“I think it’s one of those romantic things. He has his injuries, he is such an un-Spurs like signing now. He is older, he’s injured but he’s a brilliant player. Of course, if he comes to Tottenham he would be fantastic, hopefully, but it is just so financially difficult. It is not even in Spurs’ world to do that deal.”

I like Gold, he speaks a lot of sense, he is not one for ridiculous speculation and he backs up his thinking with reason and everything he has said about Bale sounds very reasonable.

The fact is that Daniel Levy will never agree to a silly wage for any player and I doubt even Levy would sanction any signing that sees a player on more money than Harry Kane. He knows the turmoil that would bring.

It would be nice to see Bale back in N17 but I suspect most Tottenham fans know it will never happen. Just a shame that the media have not clicked on to the obvious.

Golds alright.. Usually reporting the obvious.. I never listen to him because his voice irritates me 😆 Too long waffling as well, rather than cutting to the chase.

His old team mate Danny Murphy is urging him to come back.. Do it Gareth. Come home where you’re loved. Money isn’t everything, he has loads now anyway, take a pay cut, shock the world… Kane flanked by Bale and Son.. Deadlier than the scouse front 3, most probably.

If Gold doesn’t bother with ridiculous speculation then why write this article which is ridiculous speculation.Get a grip Bruce.

It makes a change from being linked to ISCO or have we finally given up on this player as well as BALE which IMO is a non starter!
