Jose Mourinho now into single digits with some bookies to be next manager to leave

Well, it had to happen, didn’t it?

The overreaction to last nights poor performance against Brighton has heaped the pressure on the Special One and not just from some of the fans and pundits but also from the bookies.

As things stand right now, Jose Mourinho is as low as 6/1 to be the next manager to leave. To put that into some context, he is third-favourite to be jettisoned behind Steve Bruce and Nuno Espirito Santo.

Now, in all fairness, that is with just one bookie, some have him as high as 10/1 and sixth in the betting to be next to leave but even so, those odds are terrible.

Just recently he was a cool 66/1 to be next manager to depart and when I say recently, I actually mean the 25th January, so less than a week ago, that is some collapse in his price.

So, a defeat to Liverpool and Brighton and bang, from 66/1 to 6/1.

Obviously, the weight of money dictates the price at a bookies and so it would appear that someone, somewhere, has been putting down a fair few quid on the Portuguese to be flung out on his ear by Daniel Levy.

All I will say on this is that you should save your money and not jump on the bandwagon, it is very unlikely that Levy will pull the trigger with the club still very much in the race for a top-four finish, a Carabao Cup final to play and sitting pretty in the FA Cup and Europa League.
