Jose Mourinho has ‘approved’ move for Tottenham player who ‘wants to leave’

By Saikat -

Jose Mourinho is keen on a move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

According to Sporx, the Portuguese manager has ‘approved’ a move for the 28-year-old playmaker and the Turkish outfit will look to get the deal done. Lo Celso ‘wants to leave’ the club this summer and it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can secure an agreement.

The Argentine international midfielder needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and Spurs will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. He needs to leave the club in order to get his career back on track with regular playing time.

The 28-year-old is a top-class player and he would improve Fenerbahce immensely. He will add goals, technical ability and creativity to the side. He is also versatile enough to operate in the wide areas as well as in the central attacking midfield role.

It will be interesting to see if the Turkish outfit follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the midfielder. Tottenham will be hoping to sell him for a reasonable price and invest the proceeds into the playing squad. The South American is not a key part of their plans and they will want to bring in players who can help them improve.

Meanwhile, the midfielder will look to compete for trophies this season and working under a world-class manager like Mourinho could be quite attractive for him. He has been linked with Real Betis and Aston Villa as well.
