Jose Mourinho eyeing late Tottenham raid ahead of Turkish transfer window deadline – report

Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon is reportedly drawing attention from former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, who is keen to bring him to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

While the English transfer window has closed, the Turkish market remains open, allowing a potential move for Reguilon.

Currently in the final year of his contract, the 27-year-old Spanish full-back has struggled to find consistent form at Tottenham due to a series of injuries and multiple loan stints.

Despite some strong initial performances, Reguilon has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under various Spurs managers.

With Tottenham offloading several players this summer, Reguilon could be the next departure as Spurs look to trim their squad.

There was late interest from Manchester United before the English transfer window closed, but no deal was finalised.

According to the latest from Fanatik, Mourinho, who now manages Fenerbahce, is eager to reunite with Reguilon, having worked with the player during his time at Tottenham.

The Turkish club is reportedly preparing a move, offering Reguilon an opportunity to secure more playing time under the Portuguese manager.

Besiktas has also expressed interest in the left-back, making the Turkish Süper Lig a likely destination for Reguilon if he chooses to make the switch.

Reguilon joined Tottenham in September 2020 from Real Madrid on a five-year contract with a £27.5 million buy-back clause.

Despite showing promise early on, injuries and inconsistency have limited his progress at Spurs. His recent loan spell at Brentford during the second half of last season was more successful, where he managed to contribute four assists in 16 Premier League appearances, but despite that, there was no significant interest in him from within England.

A potential move to Fenerbahce under Mourinho could give Reguilon the chance to revive his career and play a more prominent role in a team looking to compete at the highest level in Turkey.
