A great piece from Martin Lipton in today’s Sun which I’d say is required reading to those like me, still feeling somewhat deflated after the loss at Old Trafford during the week.
Losing against Manchester United is nothing new, but the momentum felt as if it was with us, and against them. It felt as if we were poised to plant a flag in the ground. Poised to scent our territory.
It didn’t happen. Instead, we were reduced to watching a desperately insipid Spurs. Again.
A Tottenham side that floated about to little good purpose, and then occasionally found itself outgunned as the Red Devils drew deep on their self respect reserves, for their returning Jose.
Maybe we get beaten by Burnley tomorrow and eventually become relegated. Who knows.
What I do know, is that I had become sick of listening to poor old Mauricio clinging to his dignity in every post match presser, like a drunk to lamppost, more for support – than illumination.
Channelling anger is a good thing, a deeply positive thing, and one would suggest something that this squad might well benefit from.
Jose has done a sterling job on Dele Alli.
