Johan Lange keen on £15m-rated winger, Spurs showing ‘heavy interest’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Montenegro winger Viktor Djukanovic.

According to a report from Fotboll Direkt, the Hammarby winger has attracted the attention of the Premier League club with his performances and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal to sign him at the end of the season.

The report further states that Spurs are one of the clubs taking an interest in the winger and they are showing a ‘readiness’ to spend above SEK 150 million on the player. The North London club have shown ‘heavy interest’ in the 20-year-old and he could develop into a key player for them in the coming seasons.

Hammarby reportedly value the player at around SEK 150 million to SEK 200 million. The valuation roughly translates to £11-15 million. Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay that kind of money for the talented young winger.

Tottenham director Johan Lange has also ‘started to take an interest’ in the player.

A move to the Premier League will be a major step up for Djukanovic and he will be excited about the idea of playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Tottenham have shown impressive development since the managerial change and they are pushing for Champions League qualification this season.

If they manage to secure a top four finish, they will be an attractive destination for most players during the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see if they can beat the competition for Djukanovic and get the deal done. The 20-year-old would be a long-term asset for them and he could develop into an important first-team player with the right coaching and guidance.
