Joe Hart To Spurs Makes A Tonne Of Sense

You can tell that Mourinho is at Spurs, the inside information is flowing gently once again, and transfer expectations are reaching such a point of expectation, that fans are suddenly becoming home grown quotient savvy.

Gary Jacob for The Times believes that Joe Hart (late of Burnley Football Club) could well be on his way to Tottenham.

The former Manchester City keeper is now 33, which in goalkeeper years makes him barely middle-aged. Hugo Lloris (himself now 33) will need replacing in due course and I would rather have another old hand on the bench and the training pitches with Paulo Gazzaniga, opposed to another youngster trying to catch some meaningful game time.

In the main, goalkeepers need to be confident that the job is theirs, and that everyone is behind them. It’s a role in the team that doesn’t benefit from the threat of being usurped.

Joe Hart knows the game inside out, he’s travelled, and he knows how to win, and he’d be cheap to feed.
