“I’ve heard from my sources that he’s an amazing player” Pundit Opens Up On Tottenham Youngster

By The Boy -

José Mourinho has handed debuts to a number of Tottenham youngsters, and one can’t help but feel that if Mauricio Pochettino had done so, the fanfare would have slightly bigger; Alfie Whiteman, Dane Scarlett Nile John, Marcus Lavinier, Alfie Devine, and Harvey White have all been given a taste of big game responsibility. Despite these initiatives, the Portuguese may well fail to win the hearts and minds of many Spurs fans.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, the former Aston Villa star and occasional pundit believes that Dane Scarlett is widely tipped to be a huge success.

Quote from Football Insider

The signs appear to be all pointing in the right direction for Scarlett and my only word of caution at this stage is that are many hurdles that a 16-year-old will need to face before being anywhere close to hitting the big time.

What is an immediate positive, however, is that we have a coach willing to feed these boys valuable minutes.

More, please.

He is a Muhammed Ali look-alike and that alone is his biggest attribute. Ali is regarded as the best athlete of all time, Go Dane, go!

Pochettino was awful at blooding youngsters but I don’t think Mourinho is much better only Japh springs to mind. Maybe better at involving them but he wont be playing any of them in any meaningful games this season

Sounds like he should be fighting the Mysterons. It’s all about the brand name now. Harry Kane, Dele Alli, et al. Having a quirky monica helps unless you are Harry Winks of course. I can just see Levys thought bubble sitting in the stand thinking…. “hurry up and get him in the first team Jose so I can flog Kane”

Sounds like he’s being primed. It’s all about marketability now, I mean …”Dane Scarlett” ?? It’s a perfect star name. That’s why Phil Foden ain’t getting pushed to the moon despite the fact he’s by far the most talented boy for years to come through…..but he’s a funny looking kid called Phil.
This kid ticks all the boxes, I expect he can play but it’s a star makers game now.

My thoughts exactly regarding the Jose/MP comparison. Jose as a dinosaur favouring old players and consistently shunting off young talent is another fake stick to beat him with.

If you’re good enough, you’ll be in and around the first team squad even if you’re 16-18, and fair play to the manager for that.
