‘it’s hard to believe he’ll play’: Former Premier League ace worried about Tottenham signing

Tottenham Hotspur signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old has barely had any opportunities since moving to the North London club and he has played a total of eight minutes in the Premier League so far.

The talented defender needs to play more often to continue his development and fulfil his potential. Former Romanian striker Florin Raducioiu has now expressed his worries regarding the young defender.

With the European championships coming up in the summer, he believes that regular game time is a must for Dragusin who could be a key player for the national team. The former West Ham striker claimed that Dragusin has two quality defenders ahead of him in the pecking order – Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

“It won’t be easy for Radu Drăguşin, because, I repeat, he has two fantastic players in front of him,” said Raducioiu to Prima Sport.

“I don’t know what will happen, but it’s hard to believe he’ll play.”

It will be interesting to see how situation develops over the next few months. The defender will certainly want to play more often and it remains to be seen how Spurs accommodate him in their starting lineup. Dragusin will not want to sit on the bench every week and he will be desperate for opportunities.

He was a key player for Genoa in the Italian league, and there is no doubt that he has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League as well. For now, he needs to keep working hard in training and remain patient for his chance.
