“It’s done my friend, the deal is done” Sky Sports Man In Milan Breaks News Of Spurs’ Deadline Day Deal [video]

By The Boy -

Gianluca Di Marzio has announced that Tottenham have managed to secure the services of Emerson Royal from Barcelona this afternoon to crown the club’s transfer deadline day.

The guarantee of a starting XI place, plus some €30million, not mention bonuses, were enough to convince the player to join Nuno Espiriot Santo in N17.

The player was originally thought to have been part of a deal which included Serge Aurier going the other way, but in the end, Tottenham have been left with more deadwood to stare at.

If we hadn’t started the season so well with the three wins and if Woolwich weren’t so poor then there would be far more dissenting voices. Our squad isn’t good enough or deep enough to do anything of note.

Yep, same old, same old from the bald supremo. As if the window dressing of a DOF was going to change anything.

With Paratici and Hitchen, we are now loaded with chief scouts and negotiators, yet we do very little of either.

Meanwhile Levy and Kronke desperately try and revive the Super League in the hope it props up their flawed projects…

Totally pathetic.

Foyth is young and even younger then, potential to learn. Once Poch left there was no scope to develop the younger players, so we brought in a permanently sub standard older player in Doherty. To be honest I would have even picked Aurier over him…

This will not have convinced Kane about any change of direction whatsoever.

The DOF was only brought in so we could have access to the loan to buy players.Levy the bastard wanted someone who was familiar with doing those deals like in the Italian league. By the looks of it ,it seems have spurs no money at all. Our squad is worse of then last season. Midfield is a joke.the RB we signed is a big gamble. He is joining with less experience than Doherty and Aurier.Levy needs to step down asap.

Looks like Levy is trusting the same midfield as last year albeit with Skipp… which means Winks, Alli & Lo no show need to up their game….I suspect winning our 1st game – Kane convinced Levy our forward line is fine. I’ll be surprised if Nuno is in a job by Easter…

I agree with most of your post, but I am not sure that your assessment of the Emerson versus Takehiro situation is correct. Emerson was clearly not available earlier in the window having just signed with Barcelona. Whilst Paratici was previously interested in Takehiro, who we are widely reported as having made an offer for, he evidently switched to Emerson when he became available.

Bearing in mind Takehiro was desperate to leave Bologna, was still available and would have cost slightly less than Emerson, clearly Paratici rated Emerson higher. In the Wijnaldum to Liverpool comparison Liverpool signed him first and we were left with Sissoko. In this scenario we had a choice as Takehiro was still available. Time will tell whether Paratici was right in his evaluation between the two players!

So what has this window shown us? It has shown us that absolutely nothing of any value has changed at this sh*t show of a football club. Paratici is just a bit of window dressing for Levy to hide behind. Another transfer window passes and once again we fail to bring in another striker. How many times have we said that? We have a truckload of RB’s for some reason. Levy once again punting on young players like Gil and Sarr to come good and turn a profit when sold. Sarr is this season’s Jack Clarke. Look how well that turned out for us. We still have Winks, Dier, Sanchez, Docherty, and two moody Frenchmen who do not even want to be at the club. We have our so-called star signing in Romero who looks injured and who will be away on international duty more often than being available leaving us with Dier and Sanchez as our CB’s. We sell our best center-back in Toby. We have already seen that this squad has no depth and that any injuries and we will be struggling big time. Groundhog day yet again with ENIC and Levy. Apparently, Levy lowballed for Treore at £30 million and all the chatter was simply that. More PR bile to pretend once again that the club had an ambition which we all know aside from a top-four slot they have none whatsoever. 3 scrappy one-nil wins in which for large parts of two of the games we look poor and turgid. Let’s see where we are at Christmas. I would be very surprised if we are anywhere near the top six positions. Just waiting for Nuno to start spouting the line about being in a new project and needing to be patient. Jam tomorrow once again. Nothing will ever change at this club until the virus that is ENIC is removed.

As always, I had hoped for the best but expected the worst and I was not disappointed. We couldn’t shift Aurier so it appears we are agreeing to cancel his contract. We couldn’t even sell CCV. We still have Winks, Dier, Doherty, N’dombele who is a complete basket case. No back up for Kane, no CM that we needed, Camaniviga to RM at €27.5 looked good value as did Sabitzer for €16 mill to Bayern. All the top players we were linked with were hot air, probably blown from Donna Cullen’s nickers. I would really like to be positive but plus ca change with Levy in charge.

So our DNA is “not conceding” now is it, ok then…..Bale & Vinny got 26 goals last season and neither replaced…apart from Kane and Son, we have no players that can score….

To be fair, Foyth seemed very rash in the few showings (conceding two penalties against Wolves springs to mind), but Doherty is an absolute shocker. What happened there?

Very strange transfer, hardly a re-build, we replace good players with punts…Hugo will be next with our 2nd string keeper filling his spot next season…good luck to him but lets be honest we wont go out and spend 40-50m for a new keeper…no 2nd striker, no attacking mid, really annoyed with the international guys leaving…Oreo possibly leaving on a free, Rose left for free, Le Celso average, N’dom situation is a joke…all this has opened the door for Dele….joy….

So we have three right backs, four if you include Japhet. Yet we don’t have a single creative midfielder or a spare striker if Kane gets crocked. Brilliant window. No wonder Kane wants out…

Yet more of the same old mediocrity we have endured over the last 20 plus years.

We’ve done the square route of zero in this window, top four we can forget unless Nuno is better than any of us dreamed…

Another thing the Kane disinfo pantomime did was distract from another buyrite non event summer. A Barca cast off and another Ligue 1 cheapo doesnt warrant the ST prices, even Romero is the old ‘loan, option to buy’ caper….
Still, Winks and Dele are like new signings after three 1′ Nils….
Stadium full so looks there are plenty still buying the wares of ENIC.
So much for the rebuild…

Only one striker and he averages a good few weeks on the physio bed a season, 3 RBs 2 of which we know aren’t good enough and one who is young and inexperienced, one spoiled brat in N’dom who is our only creative midfielder and half our squad are off on international duty until Christmas it would seem.

Unless Spurs do something extraordinary in the last 90 mins of deadline day we are worse off than we were last season by quite some distance. Nuno is in a nuclear arms race this season, shame the only weapons at Spurs are ENIC and their shiny new DoF.

Have to agree with the others. For all the exciting links and Paratici being constantly on his phone, we got:

  • Gollini (2nd keeper, maybe sometime a Hugo replacement, but maybe not)
  • Gil (20 years old and unlikely to start in the PL anytime soon)
  • Romero (probably a starter, but arrived unfit/injured and will f-ck about on international duty so we won’t see much of him until Christmas)
  • Sarr (18 years old…need I say more?)
  • Emerson (hopefully useful – but with Japhet’s performances, was RB really a priority?)

Plus Lamela, Toby, Sissoko, Foyth, Gazzaniga and Hart out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s FAR better than the signing-less windows, but it’s really not ground-breaking by any stretch of the imagination.

History repeats itself again remember Wijnaldum and Sissoko that is exactly about this hyped Emerson by Levy&Co and Takehiro Tomiyasu of Bologna. Levy&Co went to get Takehiro couldn’t add about €2 mill left him like Wijnaldum and ended up signing more expensive Emerson who is not that good compare to Takehiro like Wijnaldum was better than Sissoko. Arsenal got the good deal and cheap with Takehiro like Liverpool got the good deal and cheap with Wijnaldum, Levy has no clue the football side of business and he will never be the rest of Paratici and Nuno etc are powerless scape goats waiting to be fall guys. if you believe other than that you are very deluded and will never get to know Enic Levy mark my word, nothing changed Dier Dele Aurier Winks Doherty and all the flops are still there Kane as usual will sound again to move away while there is no one to replace him just in case he got injured same as always, same old story same old song and the Enic/Levy series continues.

I have to agree with coys 1882 that it appears to be an underwhelming window unless there are some last minute surprises which I doubt. All the big names we were linked with proved to be hot air, Martinez, Vlahovic, Aour, Traore, Neves, Doku and we’ve ended up with Emerson who couldn’t get in the Barca first team. We haven’t been able to shift Aurier, Doherty, Winks or Dier and God only knows what we are going to do with N’Dombele, he seems an enigma wrapped in a mystery. Paratici probably put up some good deals to Levy but as coys 1882 writes there is still no back up for Kane who will be less than enamoured with our transfer business. I see that Chelsea have signed Saul on loan from Atletico, good signing methinks and one which demonstrates the gulf between us and the other top four teams. Best to enjoy our place at top of the table whilst it lasts!

Ultimately an underwhelming transfer window. Not a fiasco, but a typical Levy offering, flattering to deceive. Minimal net spend, lots of star name association but no action and apparent priority targets, like Traore and Neves seemingly left too late.

Nuno and Paratici have worked tirelessly and kept their part of the bargain up, but after a bright start to the season on the field and early in the transfer window, how have we actually strengthened the team right now? Is Romero better than Toby? Gil better than Lamela?

I’m not denying the youthful promise of Sarr, Gil and Emerson and Romero seems to be potentially a ‘top drawer’ acquisition. Nevertheless we have NO forward back-up for Kane, NO forward replacement for Bale and our most creative CM ostracised from the squad.

Let’s not delude ourselves with our current top of the table position. In spite of terrific work from Nuno, this is NOT a top four squad. It is wafer thin in several areas, arguably weaker than last season and miles behind City, Chelsea and Utd. Once again ENIC have failed to deliver.

Another pathetic window. now we are stuck with Docherty and Aurier. Once again no recognised back up for Kane. With Ndombele out of the picture in dire need of a creative number 10. Meanwhile lo celso and Romero will be out of the picture for a 2 weeks on restart with the need to quarantine when they are back
