“It’s all in place” Tottenham need just two new signings to push for the title claims former boss

One reason why Tottenham made Jose Mourinho their manager was that they wanted to start winning trophies.

After years of underachievement, reaching the last Champions League final was a clear sign of progress and showed that Spurs are close to winning major trophies again.

They have had a crack at the title in some of the past few seasons and their fans may feel that it is about time for them to lift the Premier League.

Former Spurs boss, Harry Redknapp believes that Tottenham has quality players in their side which makes them a team that can challenge for the title, however, he claimed that they would need to make one or two new additions to the side to complete the team and then set about winning the title.

The 73-year-old said per Talksport: “Dele Alli, I love him, I think he’s top drawer. Him and Harry Kane up front, they’re full of quality, aren’t they?

“Son is an amazing player. So you’d expect them to push on, the stadium is unbelievable and the training ground is fantastic, so it’s all in place.

“They just need one or two good acquisitions to the team. Push the boat out, it’s not like they’re short of money.

“Joe Lewis is one of the richest men in the world and I’m sure that, if he wants to have a crack at it, then there’s no reason why they shouldn’t bring one or two top players in and try for the Premier League title.”

Jose Mourinho has won three Premier League titles already, and he does seem to be fortunate and win at least a trophy in his second season at any club he has managed.

Tottenham will have to back the Portuguese boss with new top-quality players that he needs if the club is to have a proper crack at the title once again but with Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis pulling the purse strings, that may not be so easy to achieve..
