The Daily Mirror’s journalist Darren Lewis has predicted that Harry Winks will be an Everton player before the transfer window shuts.

Winks is one of the nine players expected to leave the club this summer as Spurs plan on raising money from sales before making more signings. Fabrizio Romano had also confirmed that the Englishman is one of the players that is definitely going to leave the club this summer.

A host of clubs have reportedly expressed their interest in the midfielder including Everton, Southampton, Leeds United, Cyrstal Palance, and Leicester City.

Despite recent claims by The Athletic suggesting Everton has ‘backed-off’ from their interest in the Spurs star, Darren Lewis has boldly suggested that the midfielder is Everton bound. He told Last Word on Spurs YouTube Channel:

“I think Winks will go to Everton. I remember covering Conte’s Chelsea side, and they had a lot of quality, but they were also very physical as well.

“And I think if you look at the midfielders [Spurs] have, they all have that about them. And perhaps, he [Conte] doesn’t think that Winks has got that. It’s a shame, but I think he’ll move him on. And I think Everton will sign him.”
