ITK Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s Agent Was At Hotspur Way This Week

A source close to the club tells the Harry Hotspur blog that a representative of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was at Hotspur Way this week to discuss a move for Lazio’s central midfielder.

The 24-year-old was supposedly flagged in the past by Tottenham scouts. At that stage, the rumoured size of the transfer fee was almost certainly prohibitive for Spurs, perhaps in excess of €80million. Whereas now, it’s likely that the Serbian could be secured for around the €60million mark.

Copa Italia winner Milinkovic-Savic would be an exciting prospect, a ready made right sided partner for Tanguy Ndombele to play alongside to his left.

That would then leave Jose Mourinho in the relatively luxurious position of being able to use utility players such as Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier …as utility players, opposed to hoping that they might eventually construct a coherent midfield between them.

Naturally, it cannot go unmentioned here, that of the neglect our squad has endured over the past five and a half years, the failure to replace Mousa Demebele has probably hurt us the most.

Opinion: This would be a typical, no nonsense Mourinho signing.
