ITK: Club Hope For Huddersfield Opener

By The Boy -

More false starts than Speech Impediment Convention.

The Harry Hotspur blog understands from a source close to the club that the current phase of testing has so far been overwhelmingly untroubled, and that Huddersfield Town at home on April the 13th is tentatively penciled in for the debut.

13th; lucky for some?

It should be noted that even if the Shopping Centre is open in time, it will not be fully functional as significant elements are still to be completed.

This apparently includes the Skywalk, Daniel Levy’s homage to aluminium double glazing.

No Room Service

The hotel has been mothballed entirely, and it remains to be seen how truly ready the project is from an operational perspective, whenever it eventually opens.

Corporate clients are now being gradually approached in an effort to sooth furrowed brows.

It will be interesting to see how much patience (which Levy has been graciously thanking in his Crest Of Death updates) still remains.

Truth About The Debt

The financial damage provoked by the prolonged stay at Wembley has left the club with no wriggle room with which to make any meaningful amends.

What’s certain, is that the next time THFC publish their financials, they will make for interesting reading.

To understand who’s interest the Judge’s decision has served one needs to look at who receives the greatest reward from it. I’d argue it’s media profit vs public’s salacious rubbernecking satisfaction. It’s an ugly choice.

I agree. We’re not miles off of City and Liverpool. A couple of big time players would have helped hugely. So we’re left praying for some miracle run to end the year.

The judge’s rationale for allowing it seemed to be completely at odds with itseld, something along the lines of the crime was so abhorrent and the interest so great that i will allow it. Wtf?

Really, more system failures? If that is true, next season start will be at risk also.

It could still stage five – Hudds, West Ham, Everton, plus Palace and Brighton. Word is though it’s still a long way from being ready, with H&S features still failing key tests, etc. We’ll see..

Didn’t think there was a 5 game rule. Just a rule that clubs are not meant to play in multiple stadiums, with dispensation for moving to a new permanent stadium requiring special approval, which any well run club should already have approval for before selling season tickets to the wrong stadium. …..ahem

Champions league should be there at the very least. Noting that we will be winning the quarters and semis at the new joint…..

Good to hear. Are there good odds on Huddersfield surviving the drop? Just how does this ITK receive the word that our season and stadium opener next season stars with my previous thoughts of the Terriers demise being premature. Or is a cup draw being fixed? Have heard the gooners club shop have a special on branded gooner portable fire alarms going at cost price to help us out. Though their shop-manager couldn’t guarantee they come with batteries. COYS!

I find it disturbing as to why the media went to such lengths to secure the rights to publish the name, image and video footage of the 16 year old boy who has been convicted of murdering six year old Alesha MacPhail. I can’t believe for one second it had anything to do with ‘public interest’ other than that of the most base and prurient nature.

What that lad has done is unspeakable and i’m sure for many will be unforgivable but this was apparently an otherwise normal young boy that from out of nowhere has committed the most frenzied and incomprehensible crime, so something somewhere has obviously gone horribly horribly wrong. What possible purpose could be served by naming this juvenile? How is the public interest served? His life was already effectively over, and we’ve seen how well things worked out by naming the killers of the young Bulger child. Now this boy’s family and all his relative’s lives will be utterly destroyed too.

Tragedy upon tragedy.

With Palace and Brighton still alive in the cups, leaving Huddersfield, West Ham, and Everton at home in the league, the options look pretty limited and straightforward – either Huddersfield or nothing at all this season. West Ham would be a secruity mess and opening on the final match would be a joke.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the PL required us to have a minimum of 5 home games to be able to switch our fixtures from Wembley to the NWHL.The Huddersfield game wouldn’t allow us to do that.
I’ve said all along we will not play our home games outside of Wembley this season.Having a few games at the new ground could upset the momentum we have gained playing at Wembley, like it or not,our record there is pretty decent.
Why do we have a 3 week break? Is it the FA Cup and an international break?

So does this mean Spurs will have a 3week break? I know Warnock went ape about Spurs changing locations helping their rivals, but a 3week gap just before close of season. that is a huge leg up!!

I guess something could be said about possibly losing momentum but I side on agreeing a 3 week break could be a huge advantage, keeping the players fresh & having a fully fit squad for possibly a final push towards the title (or getting close to), so long as they’re kept motivated, focussed & chomping at the bit to play the like they did in the 2nd half v Dortmund (or maybe better than that!) in the remaining matches.

PS. for f**** sake Mr. Levy, wait until the start of next season – nobody ‘moves house’ just for the sake of it & at the wrong & worst possible time!

He already has, but can’t say publicly. He doesn’t want the work to slow down with contractors thinking they have more time. CL will be there if it is ready in time, but reckon the league will be a no show.

What makes you think it will have a negative effect as opposed to a moral boosting positive effect. It’s Potch and the players as much as Levy that want to be in there asap.

Said it before and will say it again. We need to open next season so the move does not have an adverse affect on our run in this season. Levy will just be doing it for his ego and will prove that he does NOT have the best interests of this club at heart
