The January transfer window opens in a few days, and one of the positions that Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve is its midfield. Over the past few months, various names have been linked to the north London-based club.

One of them is Juventus’ Weston McKennie, who has a connection with Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici. The club chief played a role in bringing the American to the Italian giant.

Now it seems as though Paratici wants to reunite with the 23-year-old. According to TuttuJuve, Tottenham is prepared to offer Juventus €25 million (£21.13 million) for McKennie.

The report further details that Juventus management has no intention of selling the midfielder but could be forced if they want to invest in the striker and fail to sell any of his players.

However, the reported sum that CalcioMercato, Juventus are looking for at least €35 million (£29.58 million) to sell the midfielder. As a result, Tottenham’s proposal might not be enough to get a deal done.

It’s already a lost cause if we’re offering only 60% of the asking price.

I have seen him a few times and am not impressed, can’t see him as an improvement on what we already have.
