‘It will happen next summer’ – Transfer expert thinks £60m man will join Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Everton at the end of the season.

The Premier League side were keen on signing a 21-year-old forward at the start of the campaign as well but Everton managed to hold on to him.

According to reports from Give Me Sport, the Londoners are set to return for the player at the end of the season, and the transfer could be possible at that time.

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed to Give Me Sport that Everton want to keep the player for the long haul but they will have to show ambition in the transfer market in order to convince Gordon that Goodison Park is the right place for him to continue his development and fulfil his ambitions.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think it will happen next summer. Obviously, Everton want to tie him down to another contract and get him secured.

“But, for the player, he has to map out his own future. If he’s going to stay at Everton, they’ve got to show real ambition between now and May.”

Meanwhile, Spurs could definitely use more depth in their attacking department and Anthony Gordon would be a superb long-term signing for them. The player is reportedly rated at £60 million.

He is naturally a left-sided winger but he can operate on either flank. He will add depth and tactical flexibility to Antonio Conte’s side.

Gordon has three goals in the Premier League so far this season and he was instrumental in the Toffees beating the drop last year. He has the potential to develop into a Premier League star.

A player of his quality deserves to play at a higher level and a move to Spurs would allow him to experience Champions League football.

Conte needs to improve his squad further in order to challenge for the title and players like Gordon could help them bridge the gap with Manchester City.
