“It allowed us to get four players in, three permanents” How Spurs transfer helped Championship outfit

Tottenham’s signing of Joe Rodon has been credited for helping Swansea bolster their own team.

Spurs signed the Welshman from the Championship side at the end of the last transfer window.

Rodon had been arguably the most valuable player in their team at the time, and the club was initially looking for big money to allow him to join Tottenham.

Daniel Levy negotiated hard and signed him for £11m and Swansea came under criticism for selling him so cheaply.

The club’s Chief Executive, Julian Winter has now revealed that the move helped them become a better team by signing some key players that have improved them.

He said it’s easy for people to argue about players’ valuation, but the fact remains that they got a good deal with the sale of Rodon and it has helped them move forward as a team.

Winter said to the BBC: “Everyone can argue about player valuations but what it did do, it allowed us to get four players in, three permanents, which is a big step in the right direction,” Winter told BBC Radio Wales.

“I think out of that the squad did become stronger.”

Rodon is yet to establish himself as a regular at Tottenham, but he has impressed in the few games that he has played for the club.
