Is Tanguy NDombele Secretly A Nutter?

Breaking old news isn’t something this blog sets out to do, however this piece from Foot Radio only cropped up on the Harry Hotspur radar this morning and it is worth sharing.

Olympique Lyonnais only recently sold their left back Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid in a deal reported to be worth in the neighbourhood of £47million. So it might be asked why a club without any obvious financial crisis is so keen to move on another of it’s best players?

The answer might be in this Foot Radio interview with their former goal keeper Puydebois, from the end of last month.

“I remember that the president had mentioned Tanguy Ndombele’s behaviour after his first call-ups for the France national team. The president is an unforgiving person, who remembers things.

“Is there a process on the part of the president to move out a behaviour issue internally in a way that is not necessarily too loud?

That is only one thing that I cannot rule out because in general it happens like that, that is to say, we put the dressing room first, despite the talent and qualities of the player.

“That behaviour topic may be something to mention to do with this sudden desire to sell to other clubs one of our best players”

If there have been issues with Tanguy, then it makes sense to keep them in-house.

It also might explain a number of other things surrounding this entire transfer.

For one, the boy was 100% at Hotspur Way and this was also 100% with the permission of his club, Lyon.

For two, Jean Michele Aulas has been trowelling it on about how this deal is not quite done and at any moment Tottenham could be outbid by more serious party.

And yet no other party has stepped forward. Protesting too much, mon amis?

Is NDombele a nutter?

We could find out for ourselves, quite soon.
