Inter Milan reportedly lands new defender; Opens the door for Spurs target to exit

Tottenham Hotspur might be getting a boost of confidence in their pursuit of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, who is reportedly their No. 1 target to help strengthen their backline this summer.

Tuttomercatoweb claims Inter Milan has agreed to terms with Torino FC defender Gleison Bremer, worth €3-million (£2.5-million) per season. So now all that’s left for the Serie A side to discuss and reach an agreement on a transfer fee with The Bull and finalize the deal.

Adding Bremer to the center-back group opens the door for Spurs to pursue and possibly land Bastoni and reunite him with his former manager Antonio Conte.

When it comes to the amount that Inter Milan wants for the 23-year-old, a fee between €60-million and €70-million is what it would take from Tottenham to secure Bastoni this summer.

Nonetheless, Football.London adds that the Italy international is reluctant to leave despite being open to the idea of playing under Conte again. It will be interesting to see if the north London club can convince Bastoni to reconsider his stance.
