According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘working’ on a new contract for manager Antonio Conte.
Conte took over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur last year and has since transformed the club into a dominant force, instilling his winning mentality in the team.
Last season, he guided them into the Champions League on the final matchday, and this season, his team has started just as strongly, losing only once in the league as they sit third on the table, level with Manchester City.
The owners appear to be pleased with Conte, as evidenced by their financial support in the summer window, although Spurs fans argue that they could have done more.
However, with Conte heavily linked with a return to Juventus following the Serie A giant’s poor start to the season, Spurs will hope to get him to sign a new contract as soon as possible.
The report by Football Insider claims that Tottenham are now ‘working’ on Conte’s new deal and ‘negotiations are set to intensify’ in November during the World Cup break.
According to the report, Spurs are offering the Italian a deal around ‘£20million-a-year’ which would be equivalent to almost ‘£400,000-a-week’
The North London club will be hoping to finalise a deal as soon as possible since the report also claims that Harry Kane and his entourage are ‘closely monitoring’ Conte’s talks before they ‘commit to a deal’ of their own.
