In Demand: Mourinho Doesn’t Skip A Beat Signing Another Huge Media Deal |video

By The Boy -

While Mr. Levy sits in his office pondering life after Mourinho, the Portuguese is in immediate demand and has agreed on terms with two of the countries leading media outlets.

For me, nothing José does is by chance. This coach is a high-net-worth individual who could quite comfortably opt to put his Hugo Boss shoes for a few weeks and take time to recover.

No such luck for Mr. Levy and the 58-year-old – who is obsessed with top-flight football finds himself immediately welcomed back into the spotlight.

I think Kane and Son became a lot more consistent under Jose. Can’t remember Kane having a bad game under him, except Zagreb I guess.

I don’t think he’s done yet, I have a feeling he will pop up back in Italy and do well. Just a feeling.
I do wonder where we will see Sacramento next?

I doubt it, I guess they had won titles before it went sour.

Jose signed the deals with The Times and TalkSport before he was sacked by Spurs. They are, like the one for The Sun also announced yesterday, to provide Euro 2020 analysis.

He is currently on gardening leave, paid weekly by THFC.

Look at the players who flourished under him, Kane, Hojbjerg, Moura, Son… proper characters who got where they are from keeping their head down and working their bllcks off, a couple more of these in the team each window and we would have been in a good place.

My perspective was that if we held onto him for a few seasons we may have finally got rid of that soft underbelly in the team, then we could have started to properly move forward as a team, and as a club. Personally I would have sat out a couple more rough seasons for that. He’s not the Messiah, but he does know a bit about football management.

With all due respect Tottenham coaches or managers have nothing to do selling or buying players Poch said Jose said if they have that power we wouldn’t have been this mess that we don’t know even who will be our next manager let along players cheers.

Poch averaged over 2 points a game over 5 years Jose less than 1.5 in 18 months. Poch never finished lower than 5th , Jose first season 6th and when he left 8th.
Jose has bought in 9 players in his time at Spurs. Apart from PEH who is an alright player who else is any good?

What comparison Jose took them from 16th or 17th to Europa league in a half a season, Poch took over Spurs were in the Europa League and he ended up in Europa league place nothing to compare here let Poch win anything 1st then we talk.

Not only Jose’s problem I say for that matter of any manager. Enic/Levy selling club and property mentality nothing football mentality fact.

Jose had about a year and a half in the Spurs job. If you compare the improvement in the team over the same time period after Poch took over then there’s very little case for Jose.

Same owners remember…

So you aren’t displaying double standards by using ENIC/Levy as the root of Jose’s problems at Spurs but when it comes to Poch’s last year or so it’s hardly relevant?

No I would suggest he’s free to take a management job any time he wants. It might be that if he did he might affect his severance settlement.
Why on earth would Levy want to stop him working?

I suspect Daniel was trying to save himself a few quid… oh sorry, the club, the club that’s it. 😂

No issues with racking up 800m of debt though… 🤔

i agree not to cherry pick but here is your double standard at least you given Poch 5 years why you did not allow Mourinho to finish at least his 3 year contract and you can’t say Spurs has become worse than last 18 months of Poch cheers.

Perhaps, but cherry picking the bad bits of Poch’s time (after the transfer neglect had destroyed any momentum) doesn’t, for me at least… stand up as a robust defence of Jose.

What ones at Utd? The Ropey and the League Cup, Van Gaal won them the FA Cup before Jose came and was sacked shortly afterwards. So do you think those trophies ranked very high for them?

Good things for us to win with a wage bill £300m less than theirs per annum I guess…?

I’m saying that it wasn’t going well, the last time we played City in the league it was an easy win for them. A trajectory had been established and it was of the downward kind…

Harsh time to fire him I agree, however we were playing truly terribly. How long was that supposed to continue? Even he’d thrown the towel in, do you honestly think with the form we were in that we’d have beaten Citeh with Jose? Exactly, get real…

This is the perspective you hire a proven winner manager to win you trophy. He takes you all the way to the final in one cup while you still have a shot for top4 finish, then you fire him before the last game you suppose to win the trophy, get real please.

Of all time? Look, I very much respect the man, but endlessly fawning over his past achievements really holds little currency in the present… He’s been sacked three times in a row now, just take that in and perhaps also let some perspective in?

So this is a deal involving talking about football, or actually managing a football team?

From Inter, Real Madrid to Talksh*te after three successive P45s? He always did love the sound of his own voice, now he can hear it on catch up!

Check out the story involving Danny Blanchflower refusing to sign a gagging order back in the 60’s. Its a shame Jose didn’t do likewise. Today they all sign one, Managers and Players.

So sad really he was a top manager who no longer has what it takes
that is exactly why he is joining talksport

He was finished long before spurs, I doubt he will manage or should i say win at the top level again

Mourinho is box office and Levy has lost not only a manager but a huge brand endorsement and point of media interest. Keeping Mourinho to the end of the season made football sense but of course, football comes second to Levy’s accountant mentality of money above all else.
