Harry Kane scored twice in Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-1 FA Cup victory, and it seems as though the 28-year-old is beginning to find his footing with manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian tactician spoke to the media, where the Daily Mail relayed his remarks, where he discussed how Kane plays a part in his tactical game plan for matches every week. Furthermore, Conte adds that he was never worried about Kane’s struggles before he arrived.
“Surely when you have a player like Harry, you have to try to involve him in your tactical idea of football,” Conte said. “He’s an important player for us, and he has to be a point of reference when we develop our football offensively.”
“Honestly, I wasn’t worried before in the past when he didn’t score a lot. Because his performance was always very, very high, he played very well in every game for the team, he worked a lot for the team and is a fantastic player for me.”
Conte also shared what it’s like behind the scenes when it comes to the work that Kane has been putting into his craft since the 52-year-old came aboard to north London. While Conte wants the best out of Kane, he also demands that from all his players.
“Because his performance was always very, very high, he played very well in every game for the team, he worked a lot for the team and is a fantastic player for me,” Conte said.
“I repeat: We’re talking about a world-class striker, and I’m trying to help him to become also better and better. Me, my staff on the physical aspect are working – but not only with him, with all the team.”
After a slow start to his season following rumors of a possible departure from Tottenham this past summer, Kane appears to have put those talks behind them when looking at his recent form.
