‘I’m not sure about some of these players’ Pundit tips Conte to do the inevitable

Antonio Conte is expected to bring positive change to Tottenham but not every member of the current squad can help him achieve his targets.

A pundit has now tipped him to offload some of them in the January transfer window.

The Italian boss has inherited a squad that underwhelmed under Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo.

Former Aston Villa man, Gabby Agbonlahor, believes Conte already knows the scale of the job ahead of him after his first two matches as the club’s manager.

A Report via Football Insider has linked Stefan de Vrij with a move to Spurs and he has reportedly told close friends he would make the move if he gets the chance.

Agbonlahor reckons that if Conte thinks the defender will help him achieve his goals for Spurs then the former Inter Milan manager would sign the Dutchman.

He told Football Insider: “Conte is going to make changes.

“He’s going to look that the performance in Europe, the performance against Everton and think ‘I’m not sure about some of these players’.

“He knows he’s got a big job on his hands there, a very, very big job on his hands.

“Any players he can get in, like de Vrij, during the January transfer window, he’ll snap their hands off to get them in straight away.”

The Boy Hotspur Says

Tottenham’s performance against Vitesse and Everton will have shown Conte the scale of the task ahead of him.

Spurs still have some of the best players in England, but the team’s overall performance is being held back by the poor quality of some of its players.

Conte will address that in the long run, but the January transfer window might come too soon to achieve that.

This is because clubs will hardly sell top-quality players mid-season and Spurs will also struggle to offload their own underperforming stars.
