‘I’m not enjoying this’ – Former player thinks Tottenham man should leave the club

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 53-year-old manager is in the final few months of his contract at the Premier League club and Tottenham have not managed to agree on an extension with him yet. Conte has reportedly put contract talks on hold and he is focused on guiding the club to a top-four finish.

Conte is a world-class manager who has proven himself across multiple leagues. However, Tottenham’s playing style under him has been criticised this season.

Former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara has urged the 53-year-old to change his setup. O’hara has added that Conte should look to leave the club now if Spurs’ style remains the same under Conte.

O’Hara told talkSPORT: “If anyone at Tottenham is listening, you have got to change the formation now. You cannot play two in midfield, you cannot play 3-4-3 without Bentancur. You have to play three in midfield.”

Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy replied: “He won’t change.”

O’Hara then said: “Well then he should go, then he should go.

“Because honestly, I don’t even enjoy watching Tottenham anymore, I don’t enjoy watching it. I used to get so passionate, so into watching Spurs play.

“And now I’m looking and watching going ‘I’m not enjoying this’. It’s not enjoyable to watch. We never have the ball, when we have the ball we’ve got no creativity. We’re awful at the back.”

The former Tottenham player is clearly frustrated with Tottenham’s defensive approach and he wants the club to play exciting football as they did under former manager Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs certainly have a number of quality attacking players at their disposal and they have the quality to play high-pressing attacking football.

That said, Conte’s style has always been results-oriented and he is unlikely to change for anyone.
