“I’d like Spurs to play their best team,” Wycombe star not afraid of Tottenham’s first-team stars
By Bruce Grove -

Wycombe top scorer and boyhood Tottenham fan, Scott Kashket is hoping that Tottenham fields their best team when both teams meet in the FA Cup.

Spurs will face the Wanderers in the FA Cup Monday night, with Jose Mourinho’s men looking to advance in yet another cup competition.

They knocked out Marine in the last round to reach this stage of the competition, and Mourinho fielded the likes of Carlos Vinicius and Dele Alli for that match.

Both players and others who took to the field with them that day aren’t regular players for the club.

With the Premier League and the Europa League still to play for, Mourinho might field a weakened side in this game as well.

However, Kashket hopes that doesn’t happen as he wants to play against the bests in the game and wants to see Spurs play their top guys when both teams meet.

“I’d like Spurs to play their best team,” he told the press via the club’s official website

“They’re one of the top teams in the world and I’d like to test myself against them and see what I can do. It would be good to learn from their defenders, to see what their attackers are doing well, and take it into my own game.

“I want to play at the highest possible level and that would teach me what I need to do to get there. From what I know of Jose Mourinho, I think he’s a really respectful manager who will want to win this competition and I’m sure they’ll be really strong on Monday night.

“For me, I feel like my greatest season is still to come. I will always carry that confidence. I’ve always had people saying to me that I can’t be successful because of my size or other things, but I’ve worked hard and I’m in the Championship now. One day I’d like to play even higher.”
