Tottenham’s season has been plagued with self-doubt and infighting amongst the fan base. Is Ange Postecoglou the right man for the job? Are ENIC holding Spurs back?
Ian Wright has just waded into the debate about where Tottenham were heading under Daniel Levy whilst talking on The Overlap podcast.
Wrighty occupies an unusual position with most fans, as despite him being an Arsenal legend, most fans find his views level-headed and of value.
Unsurprisingly, his very attack on Daniel Levy has been met with approval.
Always loved Wrighty! The pressure is building. #LevyOut #COYS @IanWright0 pic.twitter.com/FmoK37HQ0A

“They should have been winning things, because of the owner – they haven’t won anything with him, have they? With Levy at the helm. ”
“Tottenham used to win trophies, used to win FA cups, they used to win stuff. It’s him. “He’s the one, they’ve got to get him out and get an owner in who wants to win something with these fans. The stadium’s always full.”
This follows neatly from what Antonio Conte said when he threw a fit after his last game in charge at Spurs, where a two-goal lead was squandered. The Italian then immediately resigned.
What the club plans to do in the immediate future is unknown. Yes, there have been links with players, but the notoriously difficult winter window is unlikely to throw up many surprises and one has to wonder if it’s all looking a little too late in the day to achieve anything meaningful.
Worse yet, the club is currently languishing in 15th in the division, and it won’t take much for things to become extremely hairy.
It’s time for ENIC to put the football first.
