I wish Spurs had bought Jesus; better value at £45M, and he actually scores goals [opinion]

Marbella Spur is very difficult to argue with…

Reluctantly, I will have to give the club the benefit of the doubt as the window hasn’t closed yet, but the signs are inauspicious. For some reason that beggars belief, we buy and sell players, or rather loan them out as nobody appears to want to buy them, without ever really solving the obvious deficiencies in the team.

  1. Have we solved the problem of the RB/WB, or whatever the fans wish to call that position?
  2. Do we need an AM to add creativity to the midfield as we currently have Winks, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Bissouma, and Skipp in that area who are most unlikely to score double digits between all of them?
  3. Why haven’t we bought a CB? Dier and Sanchez will cost us points as they do each season and I have my doubts that Lenglet is a long-term solution. I am unconvinced that he will perform in the PL, he lacks pace and physicality.
  4. After so many years, we still do not have an understudy for Kane. I don’t subscribe to the view that Richarlison can fill that void when required. I wish we had bought Jesus, better value at £45 million, and he scores goals.

In short, despite many fans declaring that our window has been very successful, I subscribe to the view that we haven’t properly solved the problem areas and if there isn’t more activity by the end of the window, Levy will certainly and deservedly come under scrutiny.
