‘I was always told…’: Journalist confirms 23-year-old Premier League ace is keen on Spurs move

Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is reportedly on the radar of Tottenham and journalist Ben Jacobs has now confirmed that the player is open to joining the North London club.

Jacobs revealed to Last Words on Spurs: “What we can confirm is that the interest in Jacob Ramsey is legitimate, and Tottenham tried verbally on more than one occasion.

“The only thing in Tottenham’s favour I was always told the player even with Villa having Champions League football and Spurs not.

“He was keen on the move, liked the idea of London, would’ve come with a wage increase. There’s always that outside chance that you just try your luck and see if you can force the player to help you get that move over the line.

“But it feels at this moment as if it’s over for this window.”

Even though Aston Villa can offer Champions League football this season, the player is open to move to Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to step up their interest and make a move to sign him before the window closes. With the transfer deadline day edging ever closer, the North London club will have to act quickly if they want to sign the versatile midfielder.

They have already improved their attacking unit this summer and it seems that any move for Ramsey might have to wait for the future. The 23-year-old is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. He would have added goals and creativity to the Spurs attack.

The opportunity to play for a club like Tottenham can be quite exciting and it is no surprise that Ramsey is open to joining them. Tottenham have an exciting project and a quality manager at their disposal. They are expected to push for trophies this season and secure Champions League qualification. They will be an attractive destination for most players.
