Paul Robinson remains confident that Tottenham can tempt Brendan Rodgers to dump Leicester City to become their next manager.
The Northern Irish boss has been one of Britain’s most successful coaches after enjoying a trophy-laden time in Scotland with Celtic.
He has continued his fine work at Leicester City after leading them to the FA Cup trophy at the weekend.
Spurs are looking for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho a few weeks back.
Rodgers has long been their target with Daniel Levy just missing out on making him Spurs boss in 2012 when he joined Liverpool instead.
He is set to reject an approach from the Lilywhites again as he commits his future to the project at Leicester.
However, Spurs might still attempt to make him their next boss and former Tottenham number one, Robinson says it would be hard for him to turn down their approach.
“Regardless of the FA Cup or whether Leicester are in the Champions League, I think Rodgers would be tempted to come to Spurs at the end of the season,” he told Football Insider.
“Spurs are a bigger club than Leicester.
“Yes, Leicester have performed better than them this season but the history, the stature, the infrastructure and the finances of Spurs are greater. Tottenham are a massive global superpower.
“Rodgers can sit in his press conferences and say he is not interested but if Spurs come and test the water in the summer I think his answer will be a little bit different. You cannot turn Spurs down for the opportunity that it gives you.”
