The last time Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte was managing a club in the Premier League was Chelsea.

Conte would lead The Blues to a league title during his stint. Following Spurs’ match against Crystal Palace, the Italian tactician was asked about the differences and similarities between these two situations.

“No, I think it’s different. I don’t like to compare different situations. Also because there’s too big a difference with my experience in the past,” Conte said, whose remarks were relayed by Football.London.

“Also because I remember very well I started the season and when you start the season you have the possibility to work with your players and to also make decisions about your players.”

Despite the Spurs manager stating both situations, he understands that the north London club remains a work in progress. In a couple of days, the January window opens up, and it’s the first step to molding the squad into his vision.

“This is different. For sure, we have to continue to improve, to exploit the confidence that is going to improve us,” Conte said. “We know very well, I know very well, we have a big job to do. It’s good to get three points, to score three goals with your three strikers.”

“It’s good to keep another clean sheet. We know very well we have to work very hard to improve the situation. As always, I like to tell. We had to load and run.”

Although some are eager to see what changes Conte makes to this squad, the 52-year-old is already improving the squad’s play. Quality performances against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United are signs to the supporters that Conte is beginning to turn things around.

At the moment, Tottenham is in fifth place, six points behind Arsenal, with three games in hand to make up any ground on The Gunners. Furthermore, they find themselves in the EFL Cup semi-final, on the verge of winning a trophy in Conte’s first season with the club.
