Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has opened up about his transfer desire for the future.
The Spanish defender has revealed that he would like to play in La Liga in the near future. The revelation could worry Tottenham and their fans.
He said to El Espanol: “In football, you never know. Today you are playing there and tomorrow you can be playing somewhere else. Being Spanish, of course, I would like to come back and enjoy La Liga. When I played here in Primera, I enjoyed it very much and I hope one day to return, of course.”
The 24-year-old has been in fine form for Spurs and it wouldn’t be a surprise if top clubs came in for him at the end of the season. Porro could easily be attracted to joining a Spanish club in the summer.
Real Madrid need to sign a quality right-back who can replace Dani Carvajal in the long term and if they decided to move for Porro, it would hardly be a surprise.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming months. Porro’s comments could encourage Spanish clubs to test Tottenham’s resolve at the end of the season.
The Spanish defender has looked solid at the back and he has been outstanding going forward. He has picked up eight assists in the Premier League already and there is no doubt that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the world.
Spurs must look secure a top four finish and showcase their ambition in the transfer market in order convince players like him to continue at the club. Porro will want to win major trophies in the coming seasons and Spurs must help their top players fulfil their ambitions in the near future.
