Harry Kane’s equaliser against Sheffield United was cruelly denied by the Premier League’s higher beings at Stockley Park this evening, as VAR declared the strike null and void.

Sky Sports’ pundit threw a fit at half time and it would surprise me if this not fit for purpose system is allowed to continue as it is.

By now, most Spurs fans will have hopefully found peace after last night’s VAR debacle. After all, in the scheme of things, it’s not relevant.

VAR has been roundly castigated today, and my enthusiasm for the direction the game has been taking for a good while, is diminishing.

Just thinking of the UK alone, most people are going to be facing tough times financially in the wake of COVID-19, and broadcaster subscriptions could yet shrink.
