‘I fully expect there to be interest’: Tottenham expected to move for 26-year-old attacker in 2025

Tottenham Hotspur could look to sign Eberechi Eze next year as they continue to monitor his progress.

Tottenham were one of the clubs linked with the Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze during the recently concluded transfer window. While they didn’t take concrete steps to sign the English attacking midfielder, the North London club have retained interest in his services.

According to Paul Robinson, his former club continues to monitor the 26-year-old and they could knock on the Eagles’ door next year.

While speaking on Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast Robinson said: “An attack-minded midfielder is something they are looking at alongside James Maddison.

“Eze, depending on how this season goes with Crystal Palace, will sit down and see where his future lies.

“It’ll be a tough one to get done in the winter.

“He’s under contract until 2027, so come next summer he’ll have two years left on his contract.

“I fully expect there to be interest in Eze if he has a good season for Palace this year and plays well for England as well.

“There’ll be a number of clubs ready to take him away from Selhurst Park next year.

“The top clubs in England will all be after him.

“The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are all admirers of Eze and are keeping tabs on his situation ahead of next summer’s transfer window.”

Crystal Palace haven’t had an ideal start to the new season. The Eagles have yet to win a game in the Premier League and currently find themselves in the relegation zone after seven matches. While Eze has three goals and an assist in his nine outings, he hasn’t been able to help his team get the desired results.

Spurs will continue to monitor his performances for club and country and based on those performances they could look to prise him away from Selhurst Park. His £68 million release clause will reactivate in 2025 allowing Tottenham to sign the English international for a set fee. However, he will only have two years left on his deal next summer, Palace could be tempted by offers of around £50-60 million.

Spurs could look at Eze as someone who can start alongside James Maddison and even compete with the former Leicester City star for a place in the starting XI. While signing him in the winter looks unlikely, a move in the next summer window can’t be ruled out. But, the North London club will face serious competition from rival clubs.
