“I don’t think you should…” – Radu Dragusin criticised for what he did against Ukraine

Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin stole the spotlight during Romania’s commanding 3-0 victory over Ukraine in their Euro 2024 group stage match.

The 22-year-old put in a stellar defensive performance that earned him widespread praise and attention

Dragusin’s impact was undeniable as he showcased his defensive prowess throughout the match.

According to match statistics, he won an impressive 100% of his aerial duels and ground duels, made 10 clearances, including 5 headed clearances, executed 2 crucial blocks, and completed 3 recoveries.

His contributions were crucial in ensuring Romania’s clean sheet and securing a convincing win.

His incredible show was praised by many including former Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy.

However, he took issue with the Romanian center back Radu Dragusin, who was seen celebrating crucial defensive blocks rather too passionately.

Speaking on BBC Sport, he said:

“I don’t think you should be celebrating doing your job that much, just a block. I mean come on.”

Radu Dragusin, who joined Tottenham Hotspur from Genoa for £25m hasn’t had the best of starts in terms of playing time.

However, if the Romanian center back continues to perform like he did against Ukraine, he will give Ange Postecoglu a selection headache.

All eyes will be on Dragusin on 23rd June, as Romania will square off against Belgium.

Victory for the Romanian national team will get them one step closer to the next round.

Tottenham fans, in particular, will be keeping an eye on Radu, as they have high expectations from him in the upcoming Premier League season, hoping that he will add much needed depth to their back line.
