Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club for a while now.
Last summer Manchester City wanted to sign him and he was linked with Bayern Munich this summer. However, Spurs managed to hold on to him through both windows.
It is rumoured that the Premier League club might look to tie him down to a new deal now and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement.
Kane is one of the best players in the world and Antonio Conte will need players like him in order to win trophies at Spurs.
According to pundit Frank McAvennie, the player could decide to commit his long term future to the club after the kind of ambition Spurs showed in the transfer market.
Conte brought in multiple new players during the summer window and Spurs have improved considerably. McAvennie reckons that the England international will feel he can fulfil his ambitions at his boyhood club now.
Such a development would come as a massive boost for Spurs and their fans.
Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said: Now that they’re competing in the Champions League and in the Premier League he’ll stay.
“I think he’s a Tottenham fan. Players are all about money now, I don’t think Harry’s got that, I don’t think he’s got a problem with money now. I’ve got medals in my cabinet, he doesn’t and that’s what you want, you want to win something.
“They got [Antonio] Conte, that was a magnificent start, and he’s got them playing well now. He’s got them playing with a bit of confidence and playing a style that Harry will like. That might be the sway.
“Harry will just want to play football but he’s a Tottenham boy and he sees that they’re trying. I’ve got a wee feeling that he’ll stay. Records are great but you need that winners medal and that’s what he’ll be wanting and I believe Harry Kane deserves that. They’re on the right track and that might sway him on side.“
