How much trust is there in Levy & Mourinho To Rebuild Spurs?|opinion

In all fairness to Jose, he has to be given more time and some trust to make the right decisions and of course, a lot will depend on how much room he is given to manoeuvre by Daniel Levy.

However, looking at some of the players that are being linked with a move to Tottenham my confidence is low and I am not filled with enthusiasm.

For starters, there is Willian, a player that will be 32 when the new season is scheduled to kick-off, a player I personally despise and never want to see in a Tottenham top.

Just today I have seen Inter Milan’s Diego Godin being touted as a potential signing.

Godin is 34 and while he was once a very good defender do you really see him being a success in the Premier League? I do not.

There are others that one could describe as aged but it is not just the senior citizens I am concerned about, there are others, for example, Vedat Muriqi, Ryan Fraser, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Now, don’t get me wrong, these are talented individuals but only up to a certain level, not to the level that Tottenham should be targetting. Put it this way, teams like Man City and Liverpool are not exactly lining up to sign these sorts of players, are they?

All the players I have named do smack of being the sort of signings that Jose would go in for, hopefully, I am wrong but I have this feeling that I am not and that future signing will not be inspiring.

The bottom line is that I do lack trust in Mourinho and Levy to get it right.
