Hoddle reckons Kane won’t join one interested club but has to leave Spurs

Glenn Hoddle says he doesn’t expect Daniel Levy to allow Harry Kane to join Chelsea even if the England captain eventually leaves Tottenham.

Kane has asked to leave this summer and it remains unclear if he would go the extra yard and hand in a transfer request.

The striker is one of the best in the world and would be the leading man in any team.

The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with a move for him at some point in his career, however, it seems he would likely remain in the Premier League.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for him as they look to bolster their squads.

A move to Manchester looks more likely because of Chelsea’s relationship with Tottenham.

Levy doesn’t like selling to a direct rival, but he seems to have a special reluctance for doing deals with Chelsea.

Hoddle says that the Spurs supremo will not want to deal with the Blues opening the door to a potential move to the North West.

Hoddle said via Sun Sports: “The key factor in Harry Kane’s future is that he has three years left on his contract at Tottenham.

“If he only had a year or two left then I think it would be done and dusted that he’d leave them this summer.

“He could go to Manchester City. What would he achieve there, if he’s already Premier League top goalscorer at Tottenham?

“I’d hate to think he’d go to Chelsea but I don’t think Daniel Levy will let him go there instead of City or United.

“Kane has been brilliant for Spurs and it really is a sad situation.

“Tottenham only really have themselves to blame for not building on the season when they go to the Champions League final.”
