'His ego is bigger than his talent' - Tottenham man slammed after international duty incident

England fans took to social media this week to mock James Maddison after the Tottenham midfielder struck a wayward shot in the friendly match against Australia.

James Maddison has enjoyed a terrific start to the season, scoring 2 goals and assisting 5 in 8 Premier League games so far for Tottenham.

He has however struggled to replicate his club form for England. In the first international break, he was played out of position by Gareth Southgate.

And against Australia on Friday he had a moment to forget as he cut inside from the left before blasting a shot out so wide that it ended up for a throw in.

Many England fans jumped on Twitter to criticise his ability with one fan stating that “his ego is bigger than his talent“.

While others simply used to opportunity to poke fun at the bizarre shot.
