“He’s on Tottenham’s list” – Di Marzio claims Spurs are eyeing manager who has led his side to two cup finals this season

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new manager continues, and the latest name to emerge as a potential candidate is Vincenzo Italiano, the current manager of Fiorentina.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Italia has claimed that Italiano is on “Tottenham’s list” of potential managers.

Di Marzio also dispelled rumors about a €10 million release clause in Italiano’s contract, stating that no such clause exists for him to leave Fiorentina.

He said (via Fiorentina News):

“It’s inevitable that he ends up being targeted by big clubs like Napoli. If De Laurentiis were to focus on Italiano, I would find it normal. I know he’s also liked abroad; he’s on Tottenham’s list, which hasn’t closed the deal with Slot, the Feyenoord coach, yet. Many say that Italiano has a release clause of €10 million, but there’s no such clause in Italiano’s contract to free him from Fiorentina.”

Italiano took charge of Fiorentina in 2021 and is contracted with the club until June 2024. Under his leadership, Italiano has achieved notable success, winning 50 out of 101 games in charge and guiding the team to two cup finals this season.

Although Fiorentina lost the Coppa Italia final against Inter Milan recently, they still have a chance to claim the UEFA Conference League title if they defeat West Ham United in the upcoming final.

Italiano’s impressive achievements have attracted attention from major clubs, with Napoli also rumored to be interested in his services.

As for Tottenham, their search for a new manager faces uncertainty after they withdrew from the deal with Arne Slot due to disagreements over release clauses with Feyenoord.

Alongside Vincenzo Italiano, other managers reportedly linked to the club today include Brendan Rodgers and Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou.

With their managerial position still vacant, Tottenham will need to carefully consider their options and identify the right candidate to lead the club forward.
