“He’s a winner” – Alasdair Gold confirms Spurs inside man will recommend Premier League winner for the job

By Mehdi Gokal -

The latest report regarding Tottenham’s search for a new manager suggests that Vincent Kompany has emerged as a strong contender for the role.

The Belgian has been linked with the job since the past few weeks, and Alasdair Gold, a reliable journalist covering the club, has now confirmed that Tottenham’s Head of Coaching Methodology Simon Davies, is a big fan of Kompany having worked with him before at Manchester City and Anderlecht.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Gold discussed the Belgian’s chances of getting the job. He said (55:00-56:00):

“I know that Spurs have explored the possibility of Vincent Kompany as well. He’s very much at the younger age scale, he’s 36. Despite his inexperience he has Burnley playing very well and he’s a winner. Simon Davies has come into Spurs as the Head of Coaching Methodology and he’s made a really good impression from what I understand from people around Spurs.”

“He was with Kompany at Anderlecht and at Man City with the youth. The key is that he will be telling people how good Kompany is, so by all means he could be a thought for the job.”

Despite his lack of experience, Kompany has done a remarkable job at Burnley this season, transforming the team into an attacking force and leading them to the brink of promotion to the Premier League.

His success has caught the attention of top clubs, including Tottenham, who are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Antonio Conte.

Other managers linked with the job include Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, and Mauricio Pochettino. Luis Enrique arrived in London earlier today to hold talks with Chelsea, who are also interested in appointing him, while Tottenham reportedly plan to hold talks with Nagelsmann and Pochettino before making a decision.

The appointment of a new manager will have a significant impact on Tottenham’s summer signings and outgoings, and the club will need to make a decision soon. With Davies singing Kompany’s praises, it seems that the Belgian could be a strong candidate for the job.

Only time will tell who Tottenham will appoint as their new manager, but one thing is for sure – the club will be hoping for a successful season ahead.
