‘He’ll try again this summer’: Tottenham star tipped to push for exit if Conte leaves

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy is prepared to sanction his departure at the end of the season.

The England international will enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season and Tottenham have not managed to agree on an extension with him yet.

The uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Antonio Conte has clearly fuelled speculations surrounding the long-term future of the Tottenham striker as well.

Kane might feel that the departure of the Italian would affect Tottenham’s chances of winning a trophy negatively.

Journalist Darren Lewis has now revealed that the 29-year-old striker tried to leave Tottenham in the past and he will try to leave the club once again in the summer.

Lewis believes that Conte is an ambitious manager who is trying to get his players to perform at a level where they can win trophies. He added that Kane is an ambitious player as well and he could look to move on in search of major honours.

“Conte is challenging Spurs to be better – as Redknapp, Pochettino & Mourinho did before they went. He’s reached the conclusion Carrick, Berbatov, Modric & Bale etc did before they left. Kane too – he tried to go two years ago. He’ll try again this summer.”

The 29-year-old is one of the best players in the world and his departure will come as a major blow for Tottenham. However, Kane is in his peak years and any player would want to challenge for trophies at this stage of their career.  If Spurs want to keep him at the club, they must show ambition by appointing a top-class manager and bringing in the right reinforcements in the transfer window.
